Classes and prices

Four kinds of class on six reformers in one room in Bilbao, from 07:30 on weekdays. A group class is €24, never more than six of you, and everyone new starts with Arranque, three private sessions for €175.

Four kinds of class

The four classes

Every class is 50 minutes on a reformer, with springs set for you before you lie down. Swipe, scroll or use the arrows.

  1. After Arranque

    Foundations

Always your first group. Heavier springs, the same seven steps you learned in your privates, and the same five other faces for eight weeks, so nobody is the only new one in the room.

  2. Mixed level

    Flow

The bread and butter of the week. A full-body sequence on medium springs that moves from footwork to long stretch without stopping to explain, because by now you know the machine.

  3. After three months of Flow

    Strong

Jumpboard and box work. Harder on the legs and the back of the body, still six people, still springs set for each of you, and never a cardio class in disguise.

  4. Stiff backs welcome

    Slow Spine

Low springs, long holds and a slower count. For stiff backs, older bodies and anyone whose day is spent in a chair. Light springs are the hard ones, so this is not the easy class.

Nobody walks straight into a group here. After three private Arranque sessions you join Foundations with five people who started at the same time as you. From there most people settle into Flow twice a week, add Slow Spine when the back asks for it, and come to Strong once they have three months of Flow behind them. If you are not sure which class is yours, say so when you write and Lara will tell you.

The week

Weekly timetable

Thirty-two classes a week across six days, all 50 minutes long, all six people at most. Morning classes start at 07:30 on weekdays, evening classes run Monday to Thursday until 21:05, and Saturday is a short morning.

In July the evenings shrink to Tuesday and Thursday at 19:00. The full week below runs the rest of the year.

Booking

How booking works

There is no booking system and no app. You write a short note, a person who knows the room answers it, and your name goes on the sheet for that class.

  1. Write to hello@movelara.com

Say which class or Arranque you want, the days that suit you, and whether you have had an injury or operation in the last two years. A yes or no is enough. Please keep the details for the first session, with your physio's note.

  2. Lara or Iker reply within one working day

With a day and a time. Arranque slots are usually booked two to three weeks ahead, so write early if September matters to you.

  3. Pay at the desk

Card or cash, on the day. Bonos are paid in full on the first class, and there is never a deposit.

  4. Arrive ten minutes early the first time

At your first group class, so your springs can be set before the other five come in.

Turned down, politely

What we won't do

Movelara is one room with six reformers, and it works because it stays that size. These are the things I say no to, so the people on the timetable get the room they came for.

  • Groups larger than six

There are six reformers and that is the class. I will not squeeze a seventh person in on a mat.

  • Drop-in group classes for complete beginners

Arranque comes first, every time. Three privates teach you the machine so the group can teach you the work.

  • Post-surgery or post-injury work without a written note

From your physiotherapist or doctor. I am a Pilates teacher, not your physio, and the note tells me what they want you to avoid.

  • Heated or hot reformer classes

The room is kept comfortable and that is all. The springs make the work, not the thermostat.

  • Mat-only classes, or classes that are mainly cardio

I taught mat for six years before this room. Here every class happens on a reformer.

  • Children and teenagers under 16

The machines and the classes are set up for adult bodies.

  • Filming or photographing during classes

Including for your own use. The other five did not come to be in anyone's video.

  • Corporate team days or hen parties that book out the room

The six reformers belong to the people on the timetable, every hour we are open.
